Learning To Beat Burnout

Fall Retreat Details

Small things make a big difference when it comes to selfcare

Say yes to time for you! Slow down your busy brain and hectic life for three days in a luxurious resort style cabin surrounded by the beauty of nature, while learning about burnout, restoration and exploring the meaning in your life and next steps for you.

This retreat in beautiful Broken Bow, Oklahoma is just three hours from the DFW area where you will experience restoration in a different way. Time away for your hard-working brain to slow down with meditation and mindfulness so that you can reflect and restore while soaking in the many bonus benefits that nature provides. On this three-day weekend stay in and near nature you will be guided with many wilderness therapy techniques to restore peace and calmness.

Taking this pause at year end to listen inward with guided meditations, silent hikes and journaling will refresh you for the holidays and the new year to come. The December temperatures promote early evenings, quiet rest, roaring fires, s’mores and hot chocolate.

On this retreat you’ll learn and feel the benefits of unplugging daily in small ways that will make a big difference in your life. You’ll explore reasons that you do or don’t take care of yourself and whether or not you’re in a stage of burnout or just maybe your soul could be pushing you in a different direction. All allowing you to say yes to you.

On visits to nearby serene Broken Bow Lake and scenic hiking trails you’ll have the opportunity to purse mindfulness through fly fishing and other wilderness therapy techniques that will promote grounding and being present.

There will be easy morning yoga to get you connected in your head and heart. You’ll be equally nourished with a picnic lunches and organic morning and evening meals around the indoor and outdoor tables that will fuel your mind and body.

Experience wilderness therapy strategies to take home to continue your sometimes bumpy struggles in life. You’ll also explore and learn the why’s of knowing the things that are good for isn’t always enough.

What If...

What would it be like to learn how to reprogram your brain that currently advocates for productivity vs rest?

It will feel like freedom: Free from the “should’s”, “must’s” and “have-to’s” and “supposed-to’s”! And as research shows us, the big surprise is that after learning to relax and do nothing you’ll be even more productive! After this retreat you’ll be able to feel the difference when you return to work and then report back to the group on our post-integration zoom call.

How great would it feel to be present, in the moment and remember where you left your keys?

It’s the little things that can get us down and you’ll learn that it’s more about attention than forgetfulness and after a weekend of learning mindfulness in this serene place with others also seeking growth and you’ll have the opportunity to practice without the daily distraction of preparing meals, laundry, etc.

How would your life change if you could learn guilt free ways to find time for your and relaxation?

After experiencing specifically chosen meditations and at your chosen “sit spot” in nature you’ll learn to listening enjoyably inward and open up to receiving from your inner wise self (yes we all have one), you’ll then know how it feels to make you important and that you can make a big difference with very little time. You’ll also create and leave with a take home plan to integrate this process.

What if you could get back to being motivated about your life and not wishing it away?

You know it would be wonderful – because we know, you know that life is precious! You’ll jump into exploring your life before you arrive with eye opening pre-screening questions to get a baseline on your stress/burnout levels and current levels of motivation. After arriving you’ll’ have specific journals and conversations with a tree that you’re drawn to in efforts to discover where you want to be. (Yes, we’ll be talking to trees and it’s a profound experience that you’ll never forget!)

Wouldn’t it be incredible to find ways that not only helped you slow down but also slowed down the feeling that life is passing you by?

Yes, it is incredible! I use to be one of those people who said “Can you believe that it’s already December?” and now I’ve learned live in the moment (most days) and things have slowed down inside and out and it will for you too. With experiential sensory mindfulness activities, inner child & gratitude wanders you’ll feel that slowing down is possible.

How would it feel to be seen, heard and connected to other hardworking and close to burned out participants.

Being seen and heard is the most valuable gift we can receive! You’ll learn the method of “Way of Counsel” where will sit in a counsel circle and learn to listen from your heart, speak from your heart and get to the heart of the matter with others on a similar journey. Included in this process you’ll be hearing your words and story reflected back to you by others- when we speak we don’t always hear ourselves and even if we do it’s meaningful to know that others have heard us.

By The End Of This Retreat, You Will:

  • Have learned and experienced the benefits of being a part of nature not just in nature
  • Know and love new ways to slow down your life and brain through meditation, mindfulness, and listening inward to connect with yourself and nature
  • Gain clarity on why we don’t always follow through with our own selfcare
  • Return home feeling renewed and refreshed, with concrete steps for executing a joyful, healthy and burnout free life
